Dakar 2008 cancelled
In case you haven’t heard already, the Paris-Dakar rally was cancelled for 2008.
Weak sauce. I hate to trot out the “the terrorists have won” horse, but here it is. They managed to stop the 30 year anniversary of an already high-risk event.
Imagine how the privateers feel. They have spent countless hours of their own time to get over to an epic race, only to be heartbroken by an announcement made the day before the race was to start. How sad? This sad:
Front and center: the hurt puppy. Your soul is in pain from his expression.

This guy is obviously numb, learning the beloved Dakar rally has been canned:

If you don’t have tears streaming down your face, you can’t call yourself a fan of racing of any sort. I take that back: the only acceptable response, besides tears, would be praying to your deity of choice. This gentleman is pleading so hard you can almost see the prayer heading up:

A sad time for racing.

Sniff. I feel like all three.
